Auburn Youth Center and Community Center
Pease Construction was contracted with the City of Auburn in August of 2015 for the Auburn Youth Center and Community Center. This project consisted of renovating and constructing a community center and youth center at the north end of the Les Gove Community Campus. The youth and community centers were created by renovating the City’s existing 7,300 square foot Parks, Recreation and Arts Administration Building and adding 13,742 square feet of new building space. The project also included the construction of 69 code required parking stalls associated with the community center and landscape at the new parking and new outdoor spaces.
This project was awarded LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for New Construction Silver certification. Pease Construction worked closely with Fermata who was invited by ARC Architects to be the LEED consultants on the project. The project proudly reports 40% less water usage compared to similar buildings, 100% of the materials and finishes used in the building were low-emitting, healthy materials, 15% less energy usage compared to a typical recreation center building, 90% of the stormwater falling on the site is being mitigated within the project boundary, more than 75% of the construction waste was diverted from the landfill, and more than 35% of the materials used on the project were sourced regionally.
